99% of the poor people that made use of this product have already lost their money using it!!!!!

Stay away from this app, SERIOUSLY! I went through the entire process of using this product to file my Tax. At the end I was informed that my iTunes account was being charged so I could e-file. I was charged by Apple, the App told me they successfully e-filed, but it never happened. I’m finally realizing my direct deposite never went through. Now I owe the IRS late penalties. I’ve requested a refund from Apple, what a disaster!!!!!!

Doing your taxes is complicated and this app has worked pretty well for me. But Intuit has spent millions of dollars opposing legislation that would simplify tax preparation (cf. Farhad Manjoo, “Would You Let ths I.R.S. Prepare Your Taxes?”, NY Times, 15 April 2015; and others). And naturally they get what they want — their concentrated millions are more powerful than the distributed frustration of millions of taxpayers. Tax preparation becomes a system that turns your time into their money. So every year you have the freedom to choose between the hard lonely tax-prep path, or that soft Intuitive embrace. God bless America!

Last year I used HR Blocks program. It did not go so well as I have to file for two states. It messed up my home state to the tune of $4k. I am still working on getting that resolved. I had no issues this year with Turbo Tax, great job.

The APP was simple to use and quite thorough for a straightforward situation like our 17 year old son’s Federal and State taxes. The electronic filing function was particularly easy to use. Can’t say if I would use Turbo Tax on more complex situations, but for wages, dividends and capital gains/losses it was more than adequate. Interface with financial companies such as Merrill and Fidelity makes direct download of data a breeze. If you have all of the information, total filing time should be no more than 45 minutes to one hour if you are not rushing.

As an extremely busy professional constantly working long hours under tight deadlines, it was extremely reassuring for me to be able to use Turbo Tax and complete the eFile process in under 2 hours. Thank you Intuit for making this year’s tax preparation process easy and efficient.

I have been using Turbo for years. This was the worst year for customer service. The software would not let me e-file without puchasing the same software for the second time. This is the last year I will be using Turbo

Cons: No option to download my taxes from Quicken program to Turbo Tax. I’m sure this is the first time I was unalbe to sync the two sence I started using these programs. I’ve been using these program sence ‘1997. BRING THIS OPTION BACK!!! Pro: Don’t no how they do it but they seem to keep it easy to do taxes, whit the simple questions they ask. Looking forward in seeing what they plan for next year. As long as they bring back Quicken download. I would of given them 5 stars if they had kept the Quicken & Turbo Tax Syncing option on the program.

I use to pay an accountant $500 or $600 to do my tax returns and generally filed late fees because she was always running late on my filing. However, for the last 2 years I have used TurboTax and have been very satisfied with this program. It covers every detail that I need and allowed some complicated adjustements that were required for my 401k to IRA transfers. In addition, I do a lot of online trading and it imports from my brokerage accounts seamlessly. Plus it handled my commercial property transactions. TurboTax isn’t any harder than preparing documentation for my accountant, plus I learned a lot about my taxes from using this program and it cost a far less than my accountant. Works great for me!

TurboTax is so awkward. I had heard this but decided to try it since so many people I know use it. Many question were vague and I had to use the help section to understand what was being asked. Of it jusy another word was added then it would have been clear. I will try hard next year to find another Tax software to use.

Have used TurboTax for many years. Its a very good product.. and am able to complete my basic return quickly. However now with the large price increase (eg Gotcha pricing), will try something else next year

Great and easy way to do taxes!

Last year I had an issue and their technical support people was very friendly and helped me out to fix the issue effectively. This year, the SUPERVISOR even tho she said there was X option, she still said “I can’t help you with that, you need to do all of your taxes all over” after she and her representative made me lost one hour and 15 minutes of just “checking” stuff in their end. This was the second call and the first one was even worse, I don’t know if you changed customer service personnel or company providing you with the customer service, but this new face of TurboTax is HORRIBLE and I would NEVER recommend you to anyone. I had to end up paying extra $55 dlls that I DIDN’T need to spend just because of your softwares bugs and horrendous customer service, never again working with you after 3 years of using your company. I’m making sure everyone else I know ears about my experience so they don’t waste their time and money with your services. VERY disappointed

I’ve used this app so long I don’t really remember when I started. Its still a good app but it is buggy and the help screens are of little use. It took me a long time to delete a state tax return that I inadvertently added. I followed the instructions from the app and online - however, I finally found an entirely different answer and solution that worked by much tedious work and searching inside the app. When I saw all the negative reviews I didn’t believe it as I don’t recall ever having problems with TurboTax since I started using it years ago. Generallly Its a no brainer to chose TurboTax - However, not next year I will review and consider other products. Anyway, folks you’ve apparently got lots of work to do before next year as in reading here I am not the only user experiencing problems. Still I gave you 4 stars I guess for old times sake - anyway, perhaps I’ll see you next year or perhaps I won’t. Get it to gather as I’d rather not switch.

I have been using TurboTax for many years now, more than 15 years. This year, I had a world of trouble with my Windows version. So much so that it prompted me to buy this iMac. I was able to transfer my Windows created return to the iMac with relative ease. Unfortunately I had to buy the Apple version of TurboTax after having bought the Windows version earlier. To complete the filing was cumbersome and expensive. I would have gotten more for the money with Windows, but that version was too buggy. I followed the instructions online to fix, they did not solve the problem. I will not be using TurboTax ever again. They have enough of my money already!!

I haven’t used Turbo Tax in a very long time and had started paying others to do my taxes. Turbo Tax costs about the same as I’ve had to pay others to do my taxes. The difference is that it requires me to pay attention and check everything myself but it also requires me to pay attention to each prompt that Turbo Tax gives. Turbo Tax walked me through each screen and gives me the option to walk through each and every little option or I could just skip over what I didn’t think I needed to go through. I walked myself through everything just to be sure. Better to be safe than sorry. I think it was well worth the money.

If you are going to file more than one return do not buy this from the App Store; you will get charged per filing (for me it would have been >$92/fed and state return!). Buy TurboTax directly from their website instead.

Used it in the past sucessfully, but found it offensively priced this year for the quality and confidence. Features that have worked in the past didn’t, have no confidence I got the best filing I could have and this will probably be the last year I use it. Too bad.

I’ve used turbo tax every year for the last 5 years. Bought it at walmart on a CD Rom, never cost me more than $70, including the state add on. This year it’s in the app store. Fine. It doesn’t tell me how much it costs until AFTER I’ve completed the ENTIRE process … no I mean the whole thing, right past the part where you’ve gotta get a PIN from the IRS and everything. ALL the way at the end. Then when I got there, I found out it was gonna be $91. Dick move, TurboTax. You got me this time, but I’ll remember it next year. You’re FAR from the only game in town.

this is the first time i’ve tried doing my own taxes in decades. turbo tax was simply amazing! it walked me through easily and i had zero problems. will definitely be using it again next year!
